I’m glad we’ve made a few waves with the Richie Eisler LocoSkates Edit (by Dom West) this morning. So far the edit has had alot of love from alot of people who are not so easily impressed. I guess it’s hard to be objective enough to predict whether it’s going to be received well when you have been gradually watching the footage and edit unfold. I know Dom felt the same; so it’s good to know the time hasn’t been wasted. Richie is 31 years old and with every year that goes past he proves himself more as one of the most appreciated skaters in the world. By his own admission, Richie says that the secret to being able to maintain that level of skating at 31 years old is just to make sure you don’t fall over. Easier said than done. You can see how he makes this possible though when you really watch him; everything is done with absolute precision like no other skater I’ve seen (maybe Broskow). It’s almost like he is seeing things in slo mo!
We had set out a few weeks ago to film a Loco ‘Team 2012′ edit as most of our team was out in Barcelona. We ended up just running with Richie as we felt a more specific section would attract more attention, plus Dom had just about enough footage to put out a small Richie part. The left over footage from the rest of the team will be used in forthcoming videos/online edits. Leon Humphries will have enough clips for a full section. The great thing about an exclusive rider section is that our riders earn video incentive for these types of edit so Richie can literally earn money per view. I think this is probably the best way to get sections out from sick skaters… not that Richie would ever need any help in being pro-active! See Richie Eisler LocoSkates video below. Jake Eley.
