Player-manager edit, blogged

I’m not sure whether it was a self-congratulatory ode to my last 7 years skating, evidence that we use the ‘skater-run’ watermark with integrity (unlike many) or simply a challenge to see how many different pairs of skates I could wear in one edit. I’ve always wanted to put a full skate video-section out and in my 16 years involved, for whatever reason, it’s never happened; until now. There was no excuses not to get something out because I’ve been living with skate film makers Ed Inglis and Sim Warren for the best part of this year and 5 minutes walk from Dom West, Adam Kola and Ryan Gillet (all active camera-dudes). We started by finding a bunch of old footage on Ed’s computer that was never put out. We were surprised to discover that the footage dated as far back as 2005! So we chopped the hell out of it to make half the section and then set about with Ed and Dom to film some new clips to form the second half, some in Barca, some in Brighton …and so the ‘Loco Years’ concept was born. I managed to fracture my rib on one of the earlier attempts at the very last clip we filmed (the fishy…third trick from the end), perfect timing! Now I’m done for a while. I’m blessed that some of the more reputable names and blogs have reached out and shown me love. This really was one I needed to cross off my list! Enjoy…
