I would like to say a massive thank you to everybody who voted for me to win the ‘Legacy Award 2012.’ It really means so much to me! Having skated for almost 18 years now rollerblading has been my life and I feel so privileged to have been given the opportunities and such amazing experiences over the years. I can’t explain how thankful I am for that! But, like anything, things change and due to the changes in the industry my focus now is all about ‘giving back’ and inspiring young people to go out there and start rollerblading. I believe that in order for our sport to develop and progress it’s all about getting the kids involved, and luckily I’m able to use the platform that skating has given me to go out to schools and speak to kids about rollerblading and deliver coaching sessions as part of the work I do with Sky Sports and the Youth Sport Trust. Hopefully one day we will see rollerblading return to the place where it used to be, or even better, become even bigger. Regardless, I will always skate no matter what and be a part of the industry!
