The LocoSkates Beach Jam is back for 2012. This year taking place at the notorious Southsea skatepark, Portsmouth.
BeachJam will be different from your regular skate contest. As an acknowledgement to the History of Southsea we will be running with an OLD SCHOOL theme! As well as a regular streetcourse contest we will be running Mini-ramp Jams, Bowl Jams and a roller disco in the evening.
Expect the LocoSkates team along with a whole bunch of the UK’s top pro skaters to shred the park on Sat August 18th. Please come hang out and skate!
It will be £10 to enter the park on the day regardless of whether you want to enter the contest or just Jam out.
Contest entries will be limited to:
15 entries for Pro street
25 entries for Am Street
20 entries for Mini-ramp Jam (pro+am will be mixed for this contest)
You can enter on the day however to guarantee your entry into the contest we advise you submit your entry online prior to the event at LocoSkates.com
Here’s the day’s itinerary:
12pm – 1pm: Park Opens, registration, warm up skate.
1pm – 2pm: Amateur Street contest. Winner qualifies for pro contest, top 3 scoring under 15′s qualify for Slamm Jamm New Blood contest
2pm-3pm: Mini Ramp Jam contest. There is no pro or Am in this contest, anyone can enter. This will be a fast paced format, as soon as you fall or slow down the next skater will drop in!
3pm – 4pm: Powerblade Bowl Jam. Just for fun! Bring your Powerblades and we’ll session Southsea’s iconic concrete bowls. Who’s got that snake-run?
4pm – 5pm: Pro contest and best trick. The countries best skaters get down to business. We will run BeachJam format again for a fast paced and exciting competition. We will run a best-trick contest right off the back of the pro-contest if the skaters are juiced enough!
5pm – 6pm: Jam out, hang out.
6pm – 10pm: Roller Disco. Get funky, show off your moves, impress some Pompey girls(?). With BeachJam entry you will get FREE ADMISSION to Southsea Skatepark’s regular Saturday night roller disco.
